Sen. Rand Paul Filibusters John Brennan Nomination Over Unconstitutional Drones

Today Sen. Rand Paul (R) filibustered the nomination of John Brennan for C.I.A. director over Obama administrations inability to say that drones will not be used to kill American citizens on U.S. soil. Rand Paul may be on the opposite side of my social positions as I am a left-leaning Independent, but I agree with him on this, drones should not be used to kill American citizens on U.S. soil. I wrote President Obama last year about this, and his response was that he was doing it to protect Americans. I don’t think that it would be if it were done on U.S. soil, and it is clearly unconstitutional despite Holder saying that it is hypothetically legal.Drones and Rand Paul were also a trending topic on Twitter today with the hashtags #drones #RandPaul #Constitution #Brennan #CIA

If it is still going on you can watch the filibuster in action on CSPAN2.
