How you can help the Oklahoma disaster relief

Dozens were killed and countless homes and buildings were destroyed in the path of a tornado that hit Oklahoma on Monday, May 20. Relief organizations are working in the area and you can help.

On Friday, May 24, money donations will be collected for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Donations can be dropped off at WQAD in Moline, WHBF in Rock Island, or KWQC in Davenport from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The American Red Cross has shelters available to storm victims in Oklahoma. Their Emergency Response Vehicles have begun delivering meals to affected areas. They are attempting to connect missing family members to their loved ones through a website called Safe and Well.

To donate:

  • Text ‘REDCROSS’ to 90999 to give a $10 donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief
  • Visit the American Red Cross website
  • Call 1-800-RED-CROSS
