Tropical Storm Andrea came inland at 5:40 p.m. near Dixie County, Florida.  Over the next 24 hours, Andrea is expected to move quickly to the northeast, over the coastlines of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

In the Piedmont, the threat from Andrea is from the rain.  Flash Flood Watches are in effect for much of central North Carolina through 6 p.m. Friday.  We’re expecting up to 2″ of additional rain through 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Triad with higher amounts to the south and east.969032_10151422245612623_265895900_nTemperatures will be in the mid-70’s Friday, then rebounding nicely, into the mid-80’s by the weekend.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will stay in the forecast through Monday before a drying trend gets underway on Tuesday.
